TEN THINGS YOU CAN DO TODAY TO LIVE WELL


Get eight hours of sleep: sleep is so important!  They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing.  Most of the healing , repairing and rejuvenation happens during sleep.  So sleep 8 hours before you have to wake up to start your day.


Eat and drink healthy – organic fruits and veggies and water: Living well is a lifestyle.  You’ll have to put good things in your body.  You already know what the good stuff is and what is the bad stuff.  So I’ll leave this at your discretion.  Take Dietary Supplements as well.  This is part of eating healthy.  Much of the nutrients aren’t found in the foods we eat anymore so we’ll have to supplement with all natural, none-toxic, and real food dietary supplements.


Exercise – Yoga, Tai Chi, Walking: You got to exercise! If  you want more energy: exercise!  Exercising is the best way to keep you fit, feeling, great, and looking great!  Burning the fat is hard work, so to support the fat burning process, I recommend OsoLean (Oh-so-Lean).  There’s a reason why they call it that.

Nurture your body with a spa visit – massage, facials, body wraps: nothing wrong with a little pampering.

Learn or teach someone else: it’s fulfilling.  If you like cooking, teach others to cook.  One person I know became very passionate about cooking because someone else taught him how to cook which lead to delicious creations from Italy, South American Cuisine, to traditional Japanese entrés.

Volunteer – give back to your community and your Earth: I was invited to join JCI (Junior Chamber International) that focuses on developing young people to promote positive change.  Some of the JCI projects I participated in was visiting the elderly at a local  convent.  It felt really good to make a small difference in their lives as unfortunately some of them rarely get’s any visits.   They truly loved our visit.  By the way, the Nones who took care of them made really delicious espresso.  They were kind enough to teach me how to make it.  Perhaps I’ll blog about how to make it in the near future.

Avoid negativity – from yourself or from others: from all of the books I have read such as The Success Principles by Jack Canfield to The Secret by Rhonda Bryne, they all promote being surrounded by like-minded individuals that helps and empower you to be a better and more successful person. Negativity also promotes stress and it is known that stress is not good for your well-being.  Smiling increases your immune response ever so slightly and frowning decreases  your immune response ever so slightly.  Imaging what negative and stress will do.

Love – yourself and others around you: This is a no brainer!

Superficial Abundance & Nutritional Poverty


Superficial Abundance and Nutritional Poverty simply means we have so much food, but lacking nutrients for various reasons.  For instance, most fresh fruits and vegetables are green harvested and only when their ripened at the farm is when they are most nutritious and if we eat them right away.   There are also problems with the soil and toxins in our environment.  We also have processed foods that process out the good nutrients from our food.  So you know we have a problem with our food chain when the USDA recommends adults to eat 9-13 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

So supplementation is very much important in today’s world.  Supplements simply delivers the nutrients that should have been in the food we eat on a daily basis.  It is made to be convenient and cost-effective for us to take a proactive approach to our own personal wellness when it comes to nutrition.

Affordability is one of the biggest issues I come across in the field. I am an active Mannatech Associate and I pretty much tell people about Mannatech and why I believe the company and their health products are really good. It’s important to take supplements nowadays due poor eating habits and definitely due our toxic environment. That is what the experts are saying anyway.

Despite having great products that money can buy, a big objection I get is the price. Typically it takes a little over $100 to start on a Mannatech Wellness Regiment. But sad to say, many people do not have enough money to afford an extra $100+ a month.

But budgeting your funds is a good start! For example, your daily Starbucks could cut down. On average, a Starbucks drink is around $3.50 or $105 for 30days. So cut the Starbucks drink. Besides, a milk and espresso beverage contains a lot of empty calories, so lessening your Starbucks will keep the fat away. Or perhaps go every other day; you’ll still be saving about $52.50 a month. If you don’t drink Starbucks, budget in other areas. Starbucks is just an easy example.  By the way, I actually used to be a Barista during college.

Mannatech has made it easy to afford the products through network marketing as well.   All you need to do is just get 6 of your friends to start on their wellness regiment with you and Mannatech will give you $100 every single month!

So you can budget and/or take a little effort to share some information to your friends and family and then you’ll be able to afford the products.

But in all honesty, Mannatech products have value. They are made to be the best that money can buy and the prices are very fair compared to how much research and effort it takes to make them. You Can Still Achieve a Healthy Lifestyle Even Though You Just Ate Fast Food



Every day, about a quarter of Americans eat fast food. However, I wonder what the statistics are for other countries. I am currently here in the Philippines and it is fast food galore here as well. The fast foods in the Philippines are quite affordable also, causing people to go eat fast food rather than eating something more wholesome. Japan has many American fast food chains and Europe I am sure. I do believe the battle of the bulge is no longer stationed in America. The fat is just everywhere!

The typical teenage boy in the United States alone gets 10% of his daily calories from Soda. Did you know that a 12-ounce can of Coke contain about 10-12 teaspoons of sugar? Basically, it is 1 teaspoon of sugar for every ounce or shot glass of soda. It’s quite unbelievable when I first learned about that fact, but whenever I share it, everyone always questions it. But I assure you, it’s the cold hard truth and if you’re a coke drinker that is what you are drinking. Remember, excess sugar turns to fat in the body.

If you go to a fast food chain, it costs them cents to make soda and that is where a lot of their profit comes from; the sales of soda. However, if you are weird like I am, when I go to a McDonalds for a treat (yes I occasionally have a treat there too) I order pineapple juice. It’s a little healthier than soda, but it still has some sugar and it is still refined. For myself, to combat the bad food I eat, I take in extra nutrients to balance out my treat. But I keep this in moderation and so should you. That’s the key! Moderation!

What is really scary is that children often recognize the Golden Arch before they recognize their own name. Yikes! Also, if you wrap anything in a fast food wrapper, it just taste better? That is how powerful fast food marketing is. It is incredible!

However, you can still achieve a healthy Lifestyle even though at times you can’t go anywhere else except a fast food chain. The solution is natural food based supplements that will supply your body the nutrients missing from the food we eat everyday. Nutrition is fuel for your body at the cell level so you can be healthy. I do understand a burger, fries and a coke is a tasty treat and typically done as a lunch or dinner but with the current obesity problem, it’s doing more harm than good, would you agree?  Yes it’s cheap!  Obesity rates is expected to go up in the USA during the current Economy because it is simply cheaper to go to McDonald’s than it is to go to the Grocery Store and buy some good wholesome fruits and vegetables.  I have heard, and correct me if I’m wrong that two pears are more expensive than a full meal in McDonald’s.  So, a struggling mother would be able to feed her children at McDonald’s more so than simply going to the grocery store.  Completely understandable but gosh, we got to weigh in the pros and cons here as many Americans are horizontally challenged.

Most Americans lay awake at night worrying health and finances as it was polled back in 1997 and today its the same thing.  So, in order to provide our children and ourselves the best health money can buy is simply to make more money.

LifeStyle Living promotes good health and wellness in hope of all of us looking and feeling good so in turn we’ll all have the capacity and drive to succeed in other areas of our lives.  I believe a healthy body and a healthy mind is the most important asset anyone owns.  And guess what, we got it for free! Right?  We didn’t pay to be born, but we were fed, clothed and educated and in most cases, not all,we got paid (through allowances).  Now taking care of this body is our #1 responsibility,  #2 would be taking care of ourselves and others (i.e. family) through our jobs or businesses:  the finances.

There was a poll  in 1997 which asked what kept you awake at night?  The  top reasons was health and finances.  Today, isn’t it the same?  So, that is why we are talking about something very important today like Fiber and the health benefits of dietary fiber.  It is known that many people do not eat enough fiber in their diets so this is a must know.

I eat plenty of fresh mangos, pineapples, and other various fruits I get at the supermarket.   Whenever possible, I choose wheat bread rather than white.  Although white surely tastes better.  But as a treat, White buns are better on an American Cheeseburger than anything else eh…

Combat The Fat


Too much fat is the enemy! There are many health issues linked to excess fat. But how do you combat the fat in today’s world? There are so many temptations with Billboards and TV Commercials that entice you to eat the really good tasting yet fatty foods! I used to go to school near a Hooters in Chicago and right off the highway exit to my school is an enormous billboard with a Hooter Waitress with ginormous boobies of course holding a plate of buffalo wings.  Effective advertising eh???

I attended a doctors lecture and he said that humans love the taste of fat. We are designed to like fat because back in the old days, food was not as readily available as it is today. So, to fix that, our body’s love the taste of Fat and likes to keep the fat because it expects a famine.  But today, where is the famine (no where else but Africa – so sad…)?   So combating the fat in todays world in our country, it seems like a loosing battle.

In all honesty, I promote good health & wellness and the importance of fitness.  I promote entrepreneurship and business development as well and the number one business asset anyone owns is their temple:  their body.  But, I do have a weakness for burgers.  Hey, I treat myself too.  It tastes good!  Also, I love beer and I’m Filipino so with beer, I love side dishes typically called Pulutan in the Philippines.  In America, beer is served with nuts, but in the Philippines, it is fried pork galore, garlic muschrooms, lechon ect., ect.  Not healthy when these sessions are “all the time.”  But it is okay to treat yourself but in MODERATION.

Moderation is key in Combatting the fat.  That’s it!
