Vitamins and Minerals

Health by definition is simply the absence of disease.  I am not going to talk about just health, I am going to talk about Wellness!  Vibrant Optimal Wellness!   About feeling absolutely great every single time we wake up in the morning until we are ready to go to bed at night.  Now, we talked about how important Omega 3’s are to our wellness, as well as Antioxidants and Plant Sterols.  We need these things to feel great!  Now, let’s talk about vitamins and minerals as this is important for nourishing our cells.  Remember, if our cells are healthy, we are healthy.  HEALTHY CELLS = HEALTHY BODIES.  Vitamins and Minerals play an important role.

Yes vitamins are very popular and there are many to choose from.  So which one should we choose? Well, let’s look at what is out there in the marketplace.  The most common and the most popular are still First Generation Vitamins and Minerals.  They are synthetic and pretty much derived from what is not used from oil and gas:  petroleum distillate.  Now, this doesn’t sound nourishing, but basically, the molecules are tweaked to make chemically based vitamins.   However, the design of nature is that the plant takes up the nutrients from nutrient rich soil, and then digest and organizes those nutrients into a food-matrix and then we eat the plant or fruit.  We are not really designed to take in synthetic v&m, though we still can absorb synthetic, but natural is the way to go and the most efficient for our bodies.  Also, the minerals that is in the first generation v&m are finely ground minerals.  For instance, a calcium supplement are basically finely ground up limestone.  But plants eats rocks and dirt and we eat the plant.  We are not really designed to eat rocks and dirt.  Right?

Now the Second Generation Vitamin and mineral is a little bit better.  It typically comes from a single plant or fruit, but no single plant or fruit has all the nutrition we need in order to live well.  And the minerals they put in there are still ground up rocks and dirt.

I thought of talking about health and wellness and how important Plant Sterols are to our overall good health.
